Faculty Position in Law and Corporate Social Responsibility Established by $500,000 Gift from Tookie and Helen Angus

In August 2018, alumnus Robert "Tookie" S. Angus and his wife, Helen, gifted $500,000 to the Allard School of Law to establish a new faculty position in law and corporate social responsibility. This funding will be matched by investment income generated from the Allard Faculty Recruitment and Retention endowment.

When speaking of the donation, Mr. Angus said, “I am grateful for the excellent legal education I received at law school which has served me well in my career in the mining industry. Corporate social responsibility is a priority for the mining industry and I’m excited to think about the innovative research the professorship holder will generate and about the students who will learn from someone knowledgeable in this important area."

“The Allard School of Law thanks Helen and Tookie for their very generous gift which will expand the number of faculty members working with our Centre for Business Law and Centre for Law and the Environment,” said Dean Catherine Dauvergne. “This translates to enhanced educational opportunities for students and increased business law scholarship which is truly exciting.”
