The law school at UBC was delighted to celebrate the 11th Anniversary of its First Nations Legal Clinic in early 2007. The Clinic has played a vital role in the provision of legal services to the First Nations community. At the same time, the Clinic has provided UBC law students an unparalleled opportunity to learn substantive legal principles and practice skills while serving this important community.
The First Nations Clinic is moving into an exciting new phase. In addition to launching a search for a new Director of the Clinic, it is also embarking on a broad community consultation in order to further develop and refine the Clinic's strategic plan to ensure that the Clinic continues to meet its dual mission of education of students and of meeting the needs of the First Nations community. The law school is committed to ensuring continuation of the Clinic and that it is prepared to meet the ever changing challenges of the next decade.
