During the 2006 Alumni Association Achievement Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award, Awards of Distinction, Awards for Research, and an Outstanding Young Alumna Award were presented. The event was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver, BC on April 20, 2006.
The Honourable William Esson received the Lifetime Achievement award – an award that recognizes an extraordinary individual who has set a high standard for volunteerism, philanthropy and/or professional accomplishment, and has been an example for all who follow.
Ralston Alexander, QC and Judge Thomas S. Woods took home Alumni Awards of Distinction. This award honours the outstanding achievements of an Allard School of Law alumnus/alumna whose endeavours in the practice of law, government service, the judiciary, business, legal academe, community service or other areas have brought honour to the Faculty.
For their research that has advanced the Faculty’s reputation as a leading research institution, Professors Christine Boyle and Michael Jackson were given Alumni Awards for Research.
As an alumna under the age of 40 whose endeavours in the practice of law, government service, the judiciary, business, legal academe, community service or other areas are worthy of recognition and have brought honour to the law school, Sharon Matthews was awarded the Outstanding Young Alumna Award.
