Risa E. Levine awarded President's Medal of Excellence

On June 12, 2018, the Honourable Madam Justice Risa E. Levine, LLB class of 1978 alumna and former Justice of the BC Supreme Court and BC Court of Appeal, was awarded one of five inaugural President’s Medal of Excellence by the University of British Columbia President and Vice Chancellor Professor Santa J. Ono. This remarkable achievement recognized Justice Levine’s significant contributions to the purposes and ideals of the university.

The award is given to members of the academic community to recognize their excellence in their fields and their significant contributions in education, research or administrative service. For members of the non-academic community, individuals are honoured for their excellence in efforts external or internal to the university.

Justice Levine, alongside her husband, Bill Levine, Jim Pattison, Angela Reddish, and Linc Kesler, were the recipients of the first five medals in a tradition that will continue recognizing exceptional individuals of the university community for many years to come.
