Angela Austman

Class of 2000-2001

Angela Austman is a Partner at the Vancouver office of Lawson Lundell LLP (“Lawson Lundell”). Austman’s legal practice primarily focuses on corporate finance and securities law and she works as a member of the Private Equity Practice Group at Lawson Lundell. BC Business Magazine named Austman as one of BC’s Most Influential Women in Finance in its March 2019 issue.

Austman is a graduate of the LLB class of 2001 from the law school at UBC. Prior to attending law school, Austman obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Simon Fraser University in 1999. In 2001 she began working at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP in Vancouver and was called to the BC Bar in 2002. In 2007 she was named Partner at McCullough O’Connor Irwin LLP. She transitioned into her current role as Partner at Lawson Lundell in 2015.

Since 2017 Austman has served as the Director of Lithoquest Diamonds Inc., a Canadian diamond exploration company. She also serves as the Director and Corporate Secretary for the Association for Corporate Growth British Columbia (ACG BC) since 2018.

As a key player in the field of securities law, Austman’s legal practice takes her across Canada. In 2016 she was called to the Bar in Yukon, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories.
