“I was actually a counsel on the first Charter case filed and argued on the first day in which the Charter came into force…”
Geoffrey Cowper was initially told that his law school application at UBC had been rejected. With persistence and a bit of luck, the administrative error was resolved and he began his distinguished legal career as one of the youngest and most enthusiastic students in his class. Since graduating from law school, Mr. Cowper has made his mark in a number of areas of the law, from tort and administrative law to Charter rights and international commercial arbitration.
Mr. Cowper visited UBC in July 2016 and spoke about his memories of law school, his extensive legal experience and what he hopes to accomplish in the future. For more, listen to the Allard Law History Project interview with Geoffrey Cowper.
