Madam Justice Linda Ann Loo obtained her law degree from UBC in 1974, and was called to the Bar in 1975. She was practicing law as in-house Counsel for BC Hydro from 1975 to 1986, before becoming an associate (and later, a managing partner) with the law firm Singleton Urquhart, where she stayed from 1986 to 1996.
She is also a former Law Society Bencher and Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia Board member. As a civil litigator she argued and won a case before the Supreme Court of Canada. She obtained her Queen’s Counsel appointment in 1993. Madam Justice Loo was appointed to the B.C. Supreme Court in 1996, the first female Chinese-Canadian to serve on that bench.
