Jon Conlin is an alumnus of the Class of 2011 and graduate of the Business Law Concentration program. Originally from Vancouver, Conlin attended Washington State University where he received a BA in Political Science and played NCAA football for the Washington State Cougars. After graduation he began working for Fasken in Vancouver as a member of the Technology group. He currently works as a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions (M & A) team at Fasken with a focus on companies in the technology and health sciences sectors.
Conlin credits his time in the NCAA as a foundational experience that positively influenced both his law school career and first years as an associate, particularly in regard to his time management skills. His experiences in the Business Law Concentration program were similarly formative due to the ample opportunities the program provided to connect with noted faculty and expert professionals in a variety of business sectors.
Conlin routinely gives back to the BC legal community and recognizes such actions as an essential aspect of his professional life. He regularly lectures at and writes articles for the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC (CLEBC) with a focus on the purchase and sale of businesses stemming from his experience in M & A. Conlin recognizes the charitable quality of such work, but also sees it as an opportunity to keep up to date on the fundamentals of business law. He also acts as the President and Director of the Hoop Law Society and is a Board Member of the Vancouver College Alumni Association.
