Lisa Mackie is a Partner at Alexander Holburn Beaudin + Lang LLP (“Alexander Holburn”), working as the leader for the firm’s Strata Property Practice Group. She also is a member of the firm’s Insurance and Real Estate practice groups, lending her expertise on real estate, residential tenancies, and strata agreements. She also chairs the Women’s Forum at Alexander Holburn which promotes business development and networking opportunities for women, particularly lawyers, paralegals, and clients. Prior to joining Alexander Holburn, Mackie served as a legal researcher for both the British Columbia Law Institute and Canadian Centre for Elder Studies.
Mackie earned a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in 2001 from the University of Victoria before receiving her LLB from the law school at UBC in 2006. She was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2008. Since joining Alexander Holburn, Mackie has appeared before all court levels in British Columbia on a wide range of strata property and residential tenancy issues. She is also frequently called on by media sources for her expertise in real estate, rentals, and condominium law. Her name appears in over forty media publications, including references from CBC Radio, CBC News, Canadian Lawyer Magazine, and Metro Vancouver.
Apart from her stellar representative work and media engagements, Mackie has also garnered a reputation for her extensive instructional and educational commitments. In 2016, Mackie taught a strata property management course at Langara College and is a regular instructor at the Professional Association of Managing Agents and the Condominium Home Owner’s Association. In October 2019, she led a CLEBC seminar entitled “Essential Strata Property Updates 2019.”
