Rose Mok first came to Canada in 1953 from Hong Kong, having been accepted as a foreign student by the University of Toronto. After a series of relocations in devotion to her husband Henry's career, the Mok family finally settled in Vancouver in the 1960s.
Rose Mok returned to university at UBC, obtaining a B.A. and then, like her father before her, an LL.B. in 1973. She articled at Bull, Housser and practiced there in real estate and wills for three years. She moved her practice to Burns, Fitzpatrick Rogers & Schwartz in 1977, and remained there for the rest of her career. Her practice centered on wills, estates and trusts.
Ms. Mok was known for practicing law with the strictest of integrity. She volunteered her time with the Women's Auxiliary of The Chinese United Church in Chinatown, and lectured at the Vancouver People's Law School.
Rose passed away in 2015.
