Sharon MacMillian is a Partner at the Vancouver office of Miller Thomson LLP (“Miller Thomson”). Her legal practice primarily focuses on real estate law and its connection with a variety of other sectors including environmental and commercial law. Acritas Stars recognized MacMillan in its 2018 global survey of “stand-out” lawyers.
MacMillan graduated from the law school at UBC with the LLB class of 2004. Prior to attending law school she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UBC in 1999. She articled at Goodwin & Mark LLP and was called to the BC Bar in 2006. She stayed at Goodwin & Mark LLP until 2007 when she transitioned into her real estate practice at Miller Thomson in 2007.
MacMillan is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society of British Columbia, the Urban Development Institute, and the Association of Women in Finance. From 2011 to 2013 she served as the Co-Chair of the Real Property section of the Canadian Bar Association.
An expert in her field, MacMillan has authored several works on real estate law. She is named as a contributing author for both Business Laws of Canada (Thomas Reuters Westlaw, 2020) and British Columbia Probate & Estate Administration Practice Manual (CLESBC, 2019).
