Warren T. Wilson, QC attended UBC where he obtained a BA in 1962 and an LLB in 1967. He was admitted to the BC bar in 1968. Mr. Wilson has previously held the positions of President of the Law Society of BC and Chair of the Law Foundation of BC. Since 2011, Mr. Wilson has assisted lawyers throughout the province as an Ethics and Practice Advisor at the Law Society of BC.
Mr. Wilson worked as a solicitor in the Vancouver office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP for many years. Here, he led Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation through their acquisitions and merges with many smaller banks to eventually become HSBC Bank Canada – the country’s 7th largest bank.
Mr. Wilson has maintained a close connection to his alma matter. He was on the Dean’s Building Advisory Committee and played an instrumental role in making the new Allard Hall a possibility. In 2008, Mr. Wilson was a recipient of an Alumni Award of Distinction, awarded by the Allard Law Alumni Association. This award recognizes alumnus/alumna whose outstanding achievements in the practice of law, government service, the judiciary, business, legal academe, community service or other areas have brought honour to the law school.
