On April 30, 2008, the Allard School of Law Alumni Association hosted its Achievement Awards at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver, BC. Over 225 alumni, faculty, friends, and family gathered to celebrate the talents, achievements, and contributions of the 2008 award recipients.
Warren T. Wilson, QC, Sue Paish, QC, and Leonard T. Doust, QC received Alumni Awards of Distinction. The Alumni Award of Distinction recognizes individuals for their outstanding achievements and endeavors in the practice of law, government service, the judiciary, business, legal academe, community service or other areas have brought honour to the law school.
In recognition of their research achievements that advanced the Faculty’s reputation as a leading research institution, Professors Susan B. Boyd and Dr. Pitman Potter received Alumni Awards for Research.
John-Paul Boyd, an alumnus under the age of 40, was recognized as the Outstanding Young Alumnus of 2009 for his endeavours in the area of family law worthy of significant recognition. Through these endeavours, Mr. Boyd has brought honour to the Allard School of Law.
All award recipients were given an original print created by celebrated Nuu-chah-nulth artist Joe David.
