Established in 2012 at the University of British Columbia, and funded by donations from Mr. Peter A. Allard, Q.C., the CAD $100,000 Allard Prize for International Integrity is awarded biennially to an individual, movement or organization that has demonstrated exceptional courage and leadership in combating corruption or protecting human rights, especially through promoting transparency, accountability, and the Rule of Law.

On January 4, 2019, the Peter A. Allard School of Law welcomed the Right Honourable Beverley McLachlin to deliver an engaging public lecture on her impressive legal career, including her tenure as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada. Students, faculty, and members of the public filled the Franklin Lew Forum to listen to the former Chief Justice.

On November 23, 2018, the Allard School of Law announced a $100,000 donation from Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP. The gift will be used to establish an entrance JD award in honour of Jack Giles, Q.C., in order to support students interested in advocacy. The gift stands alongside many previous contributions from Farris LLP and exemplifies the continued role the firm plays in furthering the development of the Allard School of Law.

On November 23, 2018, the Allard School of Law held a commemorative event to acknowledge the circulation of the newly minted $10 Canadian bank note featuring Canadian civil rights icon Viola Desmond. Co-hosting the event with the Bank of Canada, the Allard School of Law welcomed a variety of noted speakers, prominent members of the British Columbia legal community, the student body, and members of the public to celebrate the bill going into circulation.

During the inaugural Alumni Association Achievement Awards in 2005, The Honourable Frank Iacobucci received the Lifetime Achievement Award. This award recognizes an extraordinary individual who through a lifetime of outstanding service and contribution to the community has demonstrated the true spirit of the Association’s mission and set a fine example for all who follow. In 2005, Mr. Iacobucci was also named the Walter S.

During the 2006 Alumni Association Achievement Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award, Awards of Distinction, Awards for Research, and an Outstanding Young Alumna Award were presented. The event was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver, BC on April 20, 2006.

On May 2, 2007, the Allard Law Alumni Association hosted the 2007 Alumni Achievement Awards. The event took place at the Four Seasons Hotel Ballroom in Vancouver, BC. Over 250 guests celebrated the remarkable accomplishments of the Allard School of Law alumni and faculty.

On April 30, 2008, the Allard School of Law Alumni Association hosted its Achievement Awards at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver, BC. Over 225 alumni, faculty, friends, and family gathered to celebrate the talents, achievements, and contributions of the 2008 award recipients.
